It’s true nowadays that a lot of people are looking to do business with people who seem down to earth versus a huge corporation with the stereotypical attitude that everyone is just a number and means to make money. So what was interesting recently is seeing a person purposely make all of his marketing materials in an unpolished way such as photos that look like they were taken from a smartphone to candid videos of running the business with low production quality value. For the most part, it seems to work for him.
I bet he saves a lot of money too not having to pay people thousands of dollars to create a sophisticated branding and marketing campaign. Although, there is a limit to this. For example, if you neglect to make your store actually look like it is well maintained versus like some child’s messy room I’m sure that would make people feel uncomfortable as if the place was being run by a drug addict as an example.
But for the media material like raw videos it can work surprisingly well where people will less likely be second guessing if what the person is saying is authentic or if it is simply something written by a PR agent. Being simple makes sense in this regards of being relatable. Again, it’s cheaper too if that is your direction.
