TikTok Ban In The US

Apparently in the US the president has officially signed a law that would ban the app TikTok from the US if they don’t agree to sell it as they don’t want the Chinese communist party linked to it. That seems to be the official reason whereas some people are arguing it is censorship. But what this made me wonder is how people who have developed a business of sort with TikTok are they going to jump ship immediately or simply wait it out as there will be legal challenges?

Other countries such as India apparently banned the app awhile ago and a lot of people that relied on it as a business simply vanished it seemed. I remember way back there were groups of people debating if they should even invest the time in creating a presence for the app knowing there is a good chance it will get banned due to geopolitical tension. However, many people thought even if they get say one year of great success with an up-and-coming app then it was better than simply doing nothing.

That’s so true in many ways. But I think the important thing is the common advice is to simply try and use all of the big platforms if possible because you never know when one may become big or close down. This would allow you to always be in a safe position while still benefiting.
