There was a lot of news on how it seems like TikTok will eventually be banned from operating in the US unless it agrees to sell off any form of ownership away from China. This raised a lot of controversy such as how this will set a precedence for other companies to be regulated this way. But one thing I was thinking of was all the people and companies that went all in on TikTok as their primary social media platform as this decision would obviously impact them. I remember when India banned the app there were a lot of highly successful content creators that literally saw their careers disappear over the night.
That makes you think as one could theoretically be using multiple platforms to publish their work. So at minimum, is there a reason not to focus one while still trying to capitalize on other platforms as well? It could literally just be re-uploads. I know when there was news about a potential ban early on people who were already using multiple platforms had the mindset of it was great while it lasted and they at least benefited from it. But they don’t need to just close down as they still had work everywhere else.
Most platforms don’t demand people for any kind of exclusivity either unless you are truly that big where companies are will to pay for it. The only other thought is if one truly despises a particular company in general. If anything, at least have a plan to go elsewhere if needed.
