Taking Extended Vacation As A Business Owner With Important Work Pending

It seems like this saga of getting my Samsung S23 Ultra phone repaired is constantly unveiling some new questionable business practices where I can probably make a documentary by the end of this. But one that that got me thinking today is how the store I initially brought the phone to was supposed to contact Samsung as the claim to me was there was no record of me ever visiting that store. The employee at the time told me to leave my information and that he would let the owner know as only he can deal with it.

Well, days went by with no response and so I retuned to the store. There was a new employee there who was oblivious to the matter and the funny thing was he was saying the owner was away on vacation. Specifically, in Whistler. I was thinking, that’s pretty terrible. Especially if he is the only one that can address the issue which should take a few minutes. As well, from what I gather this business can lose its license of sort if they actually did something to my phone in this situation. So that should be extra urgency to take care of it.

For a small business too, I think this is an example on how you can just shutoff your life completely from your work as you have to be flexible in case of emergencies. This isn’t a scenario where you are just an employee filling in some grunt work. If they do lose their license too that would be kind of crazy to think about considering all the person really needed to do was make a phone call. If you are going to take a vacation then you better be sure there is someone who can pretty much make any important decisions in your absence.
