This got me thinking today as I saw all these sale prices for cameras where just a few years ago they were considered top of the line with a lot of great lens kit. As you can see, there are cameras that would normally retail for over $2000 and is now under $500. For some of the them the deals are kind of crazy where while the camera is outdated tech the lens that comes with the camera still demands a high price. So it’s a bargain still. That brought up the topic on how when you are starting out with anything a lot of people assume you have to use knock off brands to not kill your wallet.
But you can usually find older tech from reputable companies being cleared out like this frequently and it should often work perfectly fine for people starting out. At that price most would expect to get something that is extremely damaged. Funny enough, here it lists the item as open box or demo but at this store, London Drugs, the items are often brand in box. It makes me wonder if they are just too lazy to re-categorize clearance deals.
It’s an example though where deals are constantly out there that can fit your budget perfectly while still getting what you need versus always just looking at what is brand new now.
