This week there is so much going on in regards to holidays as we have things like BC Day which makes it as statutory holiday and as well it is the Lunar New Years where you can expect a lot of festivities. This is interesting for some businesses as statutory holidays usually means businesses need to adjust payments and schedules for its employees and general holidays also means a different crowd as so many people are off work. For the average person it’s a nice holiday whereas for people that need to run a business it’s usually chaos.
Restaurants should like it though as usually more people on vacation usually means more opportunities. For a small business though I have often seen owners step in to do all the work versus having to have their regular employees as a way to save money and giving their workers a break. You definitely need to be a hands-on owner to be able to do that of course.
For myself the day is mostly normal since I primarily need to get basic stuff sone that is mostly digital. The holidays usually result in day after clearance sales at the supermarket which I always look forward to as a way to potentially stock up and save money.
