Today I was looking for some rolled gauze bandages where I don’t exactly buy it all the time and so price wise I wasn’t too sure what the best deal would be. Usually in these cases I actually try and compare about three different stores to get a feel for what the best value would be. The first store I went to had this value pack listed at about $9.99 which seemed like a lot. Funny enough, at another store it listed the exact same item for about $14.99.
Crazy difference in price huh? So that was making the $9.99 deal seem like the best. But then I went to a third store which again had the exact same item for about $8.99. I guess that would finalize where I should buy it from right? But that’s when I noticed this store had more variety of options.
While it wasn’t the exact same brand, there appeared to be a similar item which had a similar amount of product inside. But in this case it was $5.49. That one indeed won the pricing war and I ended up getting that. I couldn’t really tell quality wise if the other brand was really worth almost double the price. But it shows the importance on how shopping at multiple stores can help you save a lot of money while providing you with some important market value pricing to find the best deals.
Of course travel is a factor, but in this case it was around a mall which has a bunch of stores within walking distance of each other.
