Selling or Keeping Stocks That Raised Suddenly

Awhile ago I invested in some stocks in a company where I treated it like a small investment to the point where if it goes up then great and if not then it was like a lottery ticket. For the most part, the stock just kept getting lower and lower throughout the years where it seemed to be a dead investment. While many sold it, I just kept it. Well, today for some reason the stock shot up by over 300% which begs the question if I should sell it or hold it still.

Funny enough, I think this is kind of an ideal scenario for casual stock investment where you put in money that you aren’t afraid to potentially lose. Afterwards, you pretty much forget about it overall. If something great like this happens the investment was way better than letting the money sit in a savings account as an example. If you lose then for many this was like a one day premium dinner expense.

At this point, I think I am just going to hang on it still for the time being. If it was at say $3000 or so I may be more inclined to sell it. Unless it just seems like the growth is nonstop.
