Second Guessing If A Company Pitch Is Fake or Real

I’m sure everyone gets spam messages all the time and for people who run a company of sort you probably get unsolicited messages all the time from people wanting to leverage your success in some way. What got me thinking today is how there was a bunch of e-mail that I received and in many cases I just automatically assumed it was a scam message of sort since the message was so generic and the url’s embedded into the e-mail did not actually show an actual company site. Instead, it was cloaked for tracking reasons where if you click on it then the sender would know you read it.

Out of curiosity, I manually looked up the url of the company in which the business was using to help them send these e-mails and to my surprise it was actually from a legitimate large business that focuses in trying to connect businesses with the right people to help them promote their products. So this made me wonder how many times a business could be spending all this money to try and reach out to people only to have the recipient delete the message because it just looks like a cookie cutter scam e-mail of sort.

Like in this case it would have been more effective to simply send the e-mail under the domain of the actual company that is requesting for the connection as it helps to filter out genuine requests. It’s kind of amazing how something so simple is all it takes to generate that trust huh?
