This was fascinating I thought where recently a ring announcer named Samantha Irvin for the WWE decided to part ways with the company which shocked a lot of people as she was getting very positive reviews for her work and became a star of sort in just three years or so. You can imagine how shocked people were as the assumption was she decided to quit the company since her husband worked with a competitor.
This was the shocker as she revealed online that she actually never enjoyed being an announcer but instead had aspirations to do something bigger with the company such as being a manger. However, the company only saw her as a ring announcer. She states in her Instagram post “I don’t like announcing” and even stated “Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action but I don’t love being an announcer. “
Imagine that where as the viewer one would be shocked but it’s a common scenario that happens in business all the time where people do the jobs that they hate in hopes that it is the necessary foot in the door step to get to where they want. Would you actually leave this quickly seeing that you aren’t getting to where you want despite the success?
Some people were criticizing her on how this showed she isn’t reliable to push further if she was going to just quit that fast. At the same time, it’s often a necessary step if a company isn’t valuing you. There have actually been a lot of people in that particular business that left in order to eventually achieve what they wanted. It’s an interesting scenario where even you may have to encounter at one point.
