Pricing Yourself Out of Business

There were all these videos lately of people saying how Las Vegas is like a ghost town where it appears people aren’t deciding to travel there like they used to causing a huge economic loss. This could be due to things such as the tariffs where people in Canada are changing travel plans to go elsewhere. However, a lot of people were saying Las Vegas has simply gotten too expensive as the downfall has been happening for a while.

For example, the claim is there are virtually no free parking, hotels are charging high fees for basics like a fridge and even restaurants having been getting rid of tourist favorites such as an affordable buffet. I suppose you can say they were becoming very high end where only the rich could really afford to go. It reminds you how companies can get arrogant when they are making so much money and they assume they don’t need the average consumer anymore.

It’s a good reminder to not forget how you became successful in the first place and those whom you served. I’s good to expand, but completely abandoning your original core demographic is like throwing money away in terms of a having an established stable base. I would personally feel a sense of responsibility to at least try and still cater to those who were with me since the beginning. Example, turning your McDonalds into some high end luxury restaurant wouldn’t seem right.
