This has been a habit of mine where when I see items placed in a section that seems off that usually implies the store is trying to get rid of them. Despite the listed price the businesses would usually have to take time to print out clearance labels where many employees just don’t bother. What a great example this was where there were a bunch of cookies all stacked up and listed for over $4 a box. Sounds pretty normal. However, with the way these items are placed it does indicate it’s ready to be cleared. To make sure, I took a box and brought it to the price scanner. Not surprisingly, it was very cheap at about 94 cents per box.
This wasn’t a fluke as again it seems to be a pretty common sign in finding those unadvertised clearance sales. I find I usually discover these types of deals at least once a week in various supermarkets. Granted, a lot of them seem to be deals for snacks which wouldn’t be an ideal purchase if you need to buy actual meal food for the week. But it’s a great way to save money on these types of items and as well for companies that just need to fill up the snack room.
I can imagine film catering companies would love this as they could fill up a snack table for so little this way while still giving higher quality items.
