People Trying Harder When There is A Fear of Loss

I recently decided to end a business relationship with a company once the contract expires as I didn’t feel they were hungry to grow versus just kind of being satisfied with the way thing are. While that can be a good thing to have everything running smoothly, it can be a reason on why a business falls behind while potentially having another business pull the rug from right under them. I guess another way to think about it is imagine an employer thinking their employees will be there forever without doing anything to make sure they grow professionally or to improve the business against the competition.

So as soon as I informed them that I was going to be part ways it seems like they changed where they then tried to see how they could make things better and being more proactive in searching for ways to grow in hopes to keep things going. This is common of course, but it’s always interesting to see how many people need to have a fear of loss in life in order for them to have the passion and motivation to do big things.

It’s almost like the saying of how you need to do something that scares you each day in order to push yourself to strive for more. I suppose it’s easier said than done as many people like predictability with a standard routine.
