A person was mentioning today that for the most part his job requires him to work on average 12 to 16 hour days. When it comes to sleep, everyone was wondering how he could survive doing it for so long and he mentioned that you just get used to not needing sleep eventually. Afterwards, he threw in a comment about how the overtime he gets paid really makes it worth at the end and motivates him to do so.
On one end if you are really passionate about what you do then it doesn’t really matter how many hours you put in as I’m sure it doesn’t really feel like work to you. On the other hand, going through gruesome hours like that solely for money is something that I personally avoid.
I always found that if you are over working yourself in that way mainly for money then it is time to find a way to leverage yourself. A trade off between your health and money doesn’t exactly seem like a good long-term choice.
