Today was the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 phones and sure enough they seem really expensive which also drew criticism on the fact that the phones didn’t seem to evolve much hardware wise. Now the company does offer incentives such as coupons to try and get people to buy the new phones. As well, during these times they usually offer trade in bonuses where they will give you credit for the value of the phone that they normally would plus a huge bonus to make the deal even better. This includes broken phones.
I actually have a dead Samsung Galaxy S7 phone from years back and it is useless as it won’t turn on anymore. When you check on the site trade in value the phone itself is rightfully zero dollars, but because of the bonus I could essentially get $450 worth of credit towards a brand new just released phone if I wished. That’s not bad if you intended to buy it too.
This is one of those examples where it can be a good investment keep around old electronic items like these as there is often someone who wants it for whatever reason. Even if it is completely broken as mentioned.
