I am still in the process of deciding which parts to buy to make a computer and I often wait to hear real user reviews to get an accurate look on how good or bad a product may be in reality. This was shocking as people who rushed to buy NVIDIA’s newest graphics cards such as the GTX 5090 were reporting that their cables were burning out and causing hardware damage. This resulted in more people checking their computers and unfortunately noticing the same issue.
The problem appeared to be the cables that people were using to connect the card to a power supply. For example, taking the cable in and out can result in minor damages to the pin and since this card is very power hungry you can imagine things can go wrong quickly if there is even a pin damaged. So many were recommending to use a brand-new cable. Although, there are bits on how there are oversights with the actual construction of the cards themselves.
This makes me think how using social media to keep yourself updated for potential purchases can save you so much money as the news travels faster than traditional media.
