Not Relying On Just Grocery Flyers

I was reading some stories today of people saving money by planning out their purchases based on t he deals they see on flyers as this van be a great way to save money. Some say they drop four figures worth of grocery expenses a month to about $200. That’s a great way to save money where you revolve your meals around what’s on sale. What I was thinking though is that many times I find the best deals can be found by actually visiting the stores and seeing all the unadvertised deals. For example, clearance deals or initial large shipments of fruits and vegetables where many times they sell it cheaper initially to manage inventory. Later on in the week they raise the price, advertise it and make more money that way with more chances that it will sell out with fresh products.

If you think about it, many times too flyer items are something the company wants you to buy which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best deals. It could be they have vendor promotions or they want people to buy something that is high margin. In these stories too, people were shocked that online prices can be mor expensive than in-store. This is common as a lot of the grocery apps markup the prices.

But either way, don’t just sit behind the computer looing at flyers. Get out there and explore your local stores to save a lot.
