This was an interesting topic as nowadays there are a lot of people who create businesses in the film industry by simply publishing their creations on various platforms and earning income through advertisements or merchandise sales. Many times, producing mainstream movies for the theatres would be a natural goal. But funny enough, a lot of times people reported that when they try and pitch say studios they essentially treat all their accomplishments as nothing since they still view online work as like a hobby.
It reminds me in the past on how when many told people they made videos online they got laughed at and told to get a job. Whereas nowadays there are people making millions from doing it and as a results everyone is trying to get a piece of the pie. But it’s interesting to see how a lot of industries still have that fence to block out people where they only consider work within their elite circle as an accomplishment.
For many, it makes them wonder if they are wasting time building their own work if the goal is to collaborate with giant companies or if one should just go all the way and essentially build their own industry segment of sort.
