Meta Tracking Employee Computer Movements For AI Training

Ever hear how some employees feel like they always have this unwanted manger monitoring them 24/7 to the point where it feels like a prison of sort? Well, I guess this takes it to a new level as there was an announcement recently on how the company Meta, which owns Facebook, will be installing tracking software of sort to record things like mouse movements and keystrokes of its employees as they do work. But this isn’t for monitoring say productivity. Instead, apparently this is to be used as data to train its AI systems where I would imagine it will help to train future robot workers to do the same task.

While I guess you could wonder if there are any legal issues to this. At the same time a lot of businesses have cameras too that record everything 24/7 and so this wouldn’t really be any different as you are on the employee’s premise. But it did make me think if this would be true for people working remotely as well. One thing is for sure, people will probably be less likely to be wasting time browsing sites knowing they are being monitored.

It does make me wonder about security though where if you are recording keystrokes and all then that information is going to be stored somewhere and imagine what happens if it gets compromised. All those login credentials you could get for example. Full steam ahead for them and an AI workforce I suppose.
