Learning a Trade Labor Skill or Training The Mind Early

When people have kids one topic that often comes up is how you need to start stimulating their mind so that they grow up hopefully to be very intelligent since they are like a sponge at an early age. That usually results in parents placing kids in things such as piano classes. However, I was reading some other parents who believe you should instead invest financially to teach the child skills that encourage physical growth and problem solving. For example, teaching the kid to play and be great at a sport.

There were debates on which one would actually provide the child with a huge advantage as they grow up in order to potentially earn more money as an example. I don’t know if there is a simple answer as so much of that will come down to what happens when they actually do grow up. In some ways I think investing in something to help encouraging their brain growth per se is probably the safest in terms of being able to utilize that training on so many different topics. Learning a very specific physical skill is a little “riskier” such as if the child ends up not actually pursuing a specific career. But if they do such as training since a child to be a professional athlete then theoretically, they should increase their odds of success by training ever since they were a child.

I know for myself looking back it would have been good to train a bit more with various physical activities in the sense of sports or building items as there seems to be more options nowadays to train your brain whenever you wish. Either way, you should at least invest in something for the child.
