Investing In Timeless Advertisements

While watching that WrestleMania event today what I noticed which was different was that the company seems to be selling advertisement that is displayed in the middle of the ring. As you can imagine, the company is visible pretty much the entire show. As well I was thinking, every time someone watches the show in another form such as through recaps or documentaries you will also see the company advertisement. This is common in other sports but is still new in wrestling. It makes you wonder why they haven’t done it sooner as I was thinking maybe they didn’t know how to price the value of it.

But with that thought it makes you think business wise if you were to spend a lot of money on advertisements nowadays trying to get timeless value for your money seems like the better route. For example, you could spend tens of thousands of dollars to show a commercial during a popular show. Or instead you can pay someone to integrate your company branding into the show itself like this. Assuming it’s your target audience that’s kind of a hard value to pass up huh?

It makes me curious how many companies nowadays simply allocate say a one thousand dollars for advertisements online with banners and text ads versus using that $1000 to pay someone with an established audience to go on an adventure as an example where the documentary will be timeless and the company will get continuous value for their investment.
