Today I was playing around with a new camera drone where the quality does seem better. It’s from the same company like my previous product and so I assumed everything would be very similar which is a plus. When using the product though I immediately noticed some differences such as the handling and way the drone takes off and lands. That actually made some of my established procedures and techniques non usable and so I need to re-invent a system.
This reminds me how many times for a business owner they insist in keeping the same tech for the sake of maintaining operations and not having to spend time and money re-training everyone. They would go as far as paying a premium to get outdated equipment. It’s true that there will be a learning curve and some investment is needed like in my case. But what you gain makes up for it. Especially if we are talking about staying competitive and modern day.
Otherwise it will be like all those businesses that refused to use e-mail as an example. If anything, you don’t need to replace everything t the sane time. Old gear breaking down is the perfect reason to upgrade and learn it. For how much of a premium many people pay too to get outdared equipment it just makes financial sense to get new gear even if it means having to learn how to best use it overall.
