Hornswoggle Hating Peter Dinklage

This was a fascinating interview I was watching where it fundamentally dealt with dwarfism in the entertainment industry and whether or not it’s appropriate to write roles based on the person’s height in the same manner as making roles based on people’s skin color I suppose. One famous wrestler named Hornswoggle called out the actor Peter Dinklage for allegedly influencing movies like Snow White to not use people to act as the seven dwarves as the company eventually used CG animation. Apparently, he publicly scolded company’s like Disney for having roles like that where he felt even people with dwarfism should just be treated like a regular person.

This got Hornswoggle to comment how Dinklage essentially costed seven people acting jobs for those roles and more. At the same time, he expresses how Dinklage didn’t have an issue playing small people roles before when he wasn’t as famous to the point where one may feel he is being selfish. Example, Hornswoggle expressed how he would love to do those roles on a big feature film.

It’s an interesting topic in the entertainment business on whether or not you should embrace these kinds of jobs that are clearly in a sense taking advantage of peoples characteristics. Because for a lot of the famous people they actually did say those “demeaning roles” to get to where they are and others may not have the same chance. So should you embrace it in that regards where at the same time you just advocate for more non “stereotypical roles” as an example?
