The other day I purchased an item online from a company called K&F Concept where it seemed like it was a semi well known company and they had a website that clearly branded itself as a company that has operations in this country such as by offering free shipping for people within it. So, I figured I would give them a try. I even opted to pay for its express shipping as I wanted the item quicker.
To my surprise, I started to get notices from DHL that I would have to pay customs and duty fees which was a shocker as why would products within the country have to pay that? Upon further review it seems like this company is actually located in China and they shipped the item from that area which would make it an international order. That was kind of misleading I thought as my assumption was they had a local distribution centre.
While reading online for further comments it seems a lot of people had the same idea to purchase from them only to be surprised with the same scenario. I did at first inquired about this and their response days later was that they would be willing to pay for half of the duty costs. Their express shipping cost wasn’t cheap either and the main thing I was thinking is how a company like this probably generates a lot more sales by not making it clear that the product ships out of China on checkout.
