This was interesting as today I got a response from Samsung’s repair partner as originally the company told me they were going to fully cover the costs on goodwill as I had proof the phone just randomly stopped working during a mid walk use. I did bring it into their official stores initially too and they said they couldn’t do anything without charging me which this was supposed to solve.
So just today I got an e-mail from Samsung saying they won’t repair the phone as the service center determined it was “tampered with”. For example, someone opening the phone and trying to do their own repair. That was crazy as the only shops I ever brought it into was official Samsung repair stores. So as the email stated I contacted the support again and they of course just repeated the same item found tampered bit. I then reaffirmed how everything was done through official Samsung repair channels and therefore any tampering is simply them doing their own work and diagnostic. Afterwards, they realized that was odd and escalated it again.
What I think may have happened is that this recent repair center for some reason doesn’t have access to the other repair center’s reports. Even though to my knowledge there should be a share database. Therefore, they are confusing themselves. I know Samsung partners with other companies to handle stuff like this as well. But it was a good example of how having so many partners can make it chaotic to track when people have cases. Who knows what will happen here after.
