This got me thinking as I know of a person that was looking to acquire talent to help him start a project for his business where initially it seemed like there were a few that were willing to help. From what I gather, it seemed like during the process he thought he could make more money by himself and so everyone went their separate ways. Turns out, it wasn’t as easy as he thought and he ended up doing nothing notable for a whole year.
With that, he tried again to recruit people for help. However, this time he did not contact the people he previously spoken too even though they could be a very good fit. The reason being was apparently due to the humiliation of going back to the people you in a sense turned down and now admitting defeat of sort. Almost like someone quitting a job and then going back to ask to be re-hired.
Is this something you just have to suck it up and so when it comes to business? If there is someone who is perfect then the argument would be you have to swallow your pride and see what you can offer them which will make them excited to work with you. It’s just business as a lot of people will do it for the right offer despite past events. That’s often a key trait that very successful people have where they have the ability to do what’s best for business.
