I heard unfortunate news today where an individual had to put his business on hold for medical reasons where of course everyone was understanding. However, his business is literally put on hold because he is the sole operator which means his clients won’t be getting any service. It’s a good example how if you are in the business of providing some kind of service to people you need to try and find a backup to maintain operations in the event that something unfortunate happens.
I could see people having to move elsewhere during this time not because they don’t have any sympathy but rather they simply can’t afford to close their business down too a result of getting no service. It’s a little trickier if you run say a consultation type of business where it is specifically you that people are paying to see.
But one solution that many people do as a backup is they make friends with other businesses that offer similar services so that in the event this happens at least the customers know there is another organization that the person fully endorses to take care of people in the event that they are not there. Other people can be seen as competitors or simply fellow colleagues of sort. It’s good to have that backup.
