While watching the news there was a segment that talked about how there was this clip published on Youtube recently that simply had an executive chef of Mcdonalds show people how the secret sauce of a big mac is made. The comments were interesting as they were saying how companies love to give away little secrets like these nowadays as they can generate so much publicity for free and it doesn’t cost them much at all.
I did watch the video and the chef kind of made a good point as this recipe wasn’t really that much of a secret as the ingredients have been listed for a long time since people nowadays need to know what is in the food that they eat. When I think about it too many times people do reveal “secret” techniques that have already made public. But the notion that it sounds like a person is revealing the key things that make them successful is a a good hook on its own.
I suppose when you have something big and well known that is probably one of the easiest ways to generate attention by simply packaging something as you giving away your secrets. And in this case it will surely get passed around the web fairly quickly.
