Getting Preferential Treatment For Sticking With The Same Companies

This got me thinking while at a restaurant today as a lot of people are going for early Chinese New Years celebrations and as a result people are ordering extravagant meals like king crab. With a lot of people ordering it, this means the servers usually bring the crab out for people to see what they will e cooking. In this instance, what was very apparent is that the tables that seemed to be regulars at the restaurant got the much larger crabs then those who weren’t as known to the business. From what I gather too, everyone was paying the same price.

It’s a good example on how many times there definitely is preferential treatment whether you are buying goods from a business or having people want to try and give one person the best over the other. It’s a reminder that becoming familiar or a regular visitor to a company can yield perks and benefits. Even though companies should be treating everyone the same, it’s almost is never the case one hundred percent like here.

If anything, I usually try and say shop at the same place if there is no difference in prices versus elsewhere. Or if they allow price matching then I would again try to shop at the same place. Having a relationship with the business in these ways just opens up the scenario for them to want to take care of their regulars.
