Getting People To Compete For your Business

This got me thinking as currently I am on the lookout for potentially a new internet service provider as my contract is running out and usually moving to other companies is the best way to receive the best deals from your current provider and potentially new ones. This would normally involve a daunting task of having to contact every company to see what they offer and then deciding based on that.

Instead, I just decided to go to some sites where I know sales agents lurk around looking for new customers and I simply stated I am open to switching if the right offer was there. As expected, I started to get a lot of messages from people working for various companies with many offers being the same since all the resellers and agents have access to the same deals. It was more of a decision of who to go with if I decided to change providers.

But it was a great example of finding ways to just advertise your intent as a customer to then get everyone to come to you instead of you going to them. That can be helpful at times even for a business such as getting companies to bid on you where they will provide all the proposals and budgets so that you don’t need to do the grunt work yourself.
