This sounds like the complete opposite of what most people would do when they are out at say an event as usually you want to forget about work and simply just slack off as everyone needs a break now and then. But there are those times where you will literally b waiting for hours for something to start to the point where it just makes sense to try and catch up on work or business if you can during those times virtually just literally sitting there doing nothing.
I was thinking about this as there is a fireworks event here and usually people sit in spots for hours just to reserve themselves a good spot for the show. The good thing is you get a good spot. But the bad thing is you are siting there for hours doing nothing until the show starts. If you think about it though, a lot of people can do their work during the downtime such as bringing a laptop. For example, I can actually work on editing items while waiting as usually I would be sitting at home doing the work. But in this case, I am essentially killing two birds with one stone where I can work while waiting for the show to start.
This isn’t just for events too. If you are one that uses say public transportation and run your own online business there are many that handle a lot of their operations simply with a phone. This is versus just wasting time watching a show on the go as an example. Of course, there are time such as if you are out for a dinner meeting that you need to just log off from all this stuff. But in cases of “downtime” you can turn it into something productive.
