Cadillac Fairview Stress Less Lunch

I was surprised to read about this today where the organization Cadillac Fair was literally offering people free lunch as part of a program called “Stress Less Lunch”. Apparently, they partnered up with various food truck vendors where anyone can literally go up to the vendors and receive meals that they would normally charge money for absolutely free. They seem to be covering the bill and from reading the press release it’s supposed to be a way to help enrich the community of people who work in the Vancouver downtown core.

While the expense must be pretty high, I suppose it’s an example of an action that will likely leave people with a positive outlook on the organization. Probably helps them too I would imagine if they ever have to propose some kind of deal with the city as these would be examples on how they could say they want to do what’s best for the community. In that regard, I can see how people would say it’s all a business strategy versus just doing it out of goodwill per se. But at the same time not everyone that has the money would even do something like that to begin with.

So at least they are trying to give back in a way where the event is accessible to all versus just one particular organization. Only time would really tell how much they would benefit from it. But in the meantime, you can enjoy a free meal if you are around the Vancouver Art gallery area from around 12pm to 2pm today September 25, 2024.
