Bypassing A Purchase You intended If It Costs Too Much

Imagine going to the grocery store where you wanted to buy something like a stalk of celery that you know costs about one dollar usually. Upon arrival you noticed that it costs three dollars which is super expensive. Would you still buy it? For myself I would be inclined to say no. But what was interesting to me was seeing a person who still went ahead and bought it because it was on their list of things to buy. Now granted there could be a situation where you must have it such as if it is a requirement for a client. But if it was just for own say dinner plan would you change it because of the cost?

While I usually plan purchases based on flyer sales, I am inclined to be the type of person who would buy something else. I just find at times you can waste so much money this way to the point where the cost eliminates all of your saving effort for other things. Almost like have a great six days of the week on some kind of fitness routine to lose weight and then just the one day you go so overboard with things like junk food and all that it eliminates all the work you have done.

So in that sense I think it is good to get into the habit of being open to the idea that if something like a particular food item costs way too much then substituting it with something else that is say on sale may be better. At minimum at least look for it at other stores where it may be cheaper.
