There was an unfortunate event in the later evening yesterday as a person evidently drove a vehicle through a crowd at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver where as of writing this there has been eleven deaths. A tragic incident and not surprisingly a lot of people gathered at the site to mourn over the loss.
With that said, there were still a lot of big events that took place for the day and some people were criticizing that everything should be held off to place the focus on this. That’s often a criticism people put towards businesses in which I would say it doesn’t make sense overall just because it doesn’t impact you. Imagine some kind of medical businesses closing down for the day that you specifically need because of a tragic incident.
I do remember other examples like entertainment companies where the performers told people they will continue as their job is to try and make people say happy for the time with them which many people need. If anything, I think the business recognizing the tragic event is all you can realistically expect as again there is likely someone that needs the service.
