Building Someone Else’s Business When You Can Create Your Own

Interesting conversation I had today with a person who apparently agreed to work with a friend to start a business of sort where I thought it was a little strange as it sounded like he was supposed to be trying to bring in all the business for the startup while at the same time teaching the customers. However, he wasn’t a partner in the business as the justification was the person who actually has the space to host the clients is the business owner who takes a small fee of the clients.

This would make sense for like those Uber types of business or platforms where they heavily advertise themselves to try and bring in customers for their contractors. But imagine like here if it was literally the contractors trying to brig in business for Uber instead. You may as well just create your own business in those instances which is what I kind of wondered for this person.

It seemed like it didn’t really cross his mind at first on how he pretty much could just run it as his own independent business and renting the space if he needs it. That actually made more sense if he was doing all the work in that regards. The mental barrier apparently is when people think starting a business it sounds way more complicated than it really is as if you need to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to open up a Walmart store as an example. It really isn’t as a self-employed independent contractor as an example. The easiest example would be someone just selling stuff on Ebay consistently. Starting your own business can be the better decision in these types of cases.
