I was reading how in California they have essentially declared a state of emergency because of the fear of bird flu spreading amongst people and the first thing that came to mind is whether or not we are going to have a repeat of just a few years ago with things like lockdown. Granted I am located in a different country, but since the US is so close to us you can bet any lockdown procedures would likely spread here fast if more places adopt the emergency procedure.
At this point I think I am fully prepared for any kind of lockdown and I would imagine they wouldn’t repeat what happened last time such as school closures as even now it’s being discussed how a lot of the procedures that were implemented actually did more harm than good in some cases. There isn’t much to buy as an example as I have the basics. The only debate is if I want stuff that is better than just the basics such as a better computer if I am going to end up having to do heavier workload.
I more fascinated to see if we learned from the past too such as if people focus on the vulnerable versus the healthy. I can imagine in this case house pets will be the target of a lot of fear too. I suppose this would be an odd start to 2025 if it ends up being like the previous years.
