I was reading various reports on how in the US it seems like they are potentially banning more Chinese companies from being able to operate in the US similar to what was done to Huawei. In this case, it seemed like DJI, which is the largest drone manufacturer for consumer drones, may be next on the list with reasons being security concerns.
It got me thinking as this was important details for some people I was talking to as they were considering in investing thousands of dollars in gear made by that company. As good as the product may be for them, it would be a disaster to spend all that money and not be able to use it for large jobs. To be fair, most likely if such a law was put in place it wouldn’t take in effect until awhile. But with that uncertainty it might be a good decision to start exploring other options.
I fortunately have never been in that predicament. I know as a consumer a lot of people normally have extreme brand loyalty as if people are playing some kind of sport and must stick with the team they chose. But for work and business you need to choose what’s best while always exploring what’s out there. Because you never know what may happen like this.
