Competition is usually just a part of running a business which should be good for the customer as it keeps every company on their toes to try and offer the best. Otherwise, people can just take their business elsewhere. There was one example though that was kind of interesting where usually companies love to flaunt the type of clients they have as it gives them credibility for prospective customers. Example, see a company with a lot of big named clients and that can e enough to convince people to work with them as well.
But this one company actually attempts to hide all of their customers not because they wouldn’t allow themselves to be advertised. Instead, they fear that showcasing their longtime clients increases the odds that competing companies will then know who to target as potential clients to take away from them. I was thinking, that sounds reasonable on paper. However, they probably lose more business by not showing their clientele since on the outside they look like a garage operation with no notable successes per se compared to other companies.
If anything, I think it would be better for the company to work on providing the best to the point where they shouldn’t be afraid in losing their customers to competitors. Because if you feel the need to hide that it’s almost like admittance that you are not confident of your offering compared to others in many ways.
