Interesting story to reflect upon that I heard today that dealt with a person that felt very cheated on the day of a job that he agreed to. From the sounds of it, the person was offered a little under $200 a day to do some work and he was excited to do it as he hasn’t worked in a while and understood it’s usually a budget issue. So, he accepted. It wasn’t until the day of the job that he got very upset as he found out how much others were getting.
While granted the other people had bigger roles in the job, apparently, they were getting paid almost one thousand a day and they received essentially royal treatment with full travel and accommodations. These weren’t big superstars or anything either. But that kind of showed budget wise they had the money to pay the person more. They just decided not to because the bottom line is someone was willing to work for way less.
So that makes you think as it is kind of a good example on how if you keep accepting lower paid work like this then people will see that as your overall value. Versus the others that demanded for a lot more. I know it’s hard when you are starting out. However, there comes a point where you will have to start rejecting low paying jobs.
