Well, this was a fascinating read as apparently there is this game award called the Indie Game Awards 2025 and a game titled Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 originally won but w was then was disqualified due to it having AI generated components. I suppose the organizers only learned about this after the fact of course and the runner up ended up winning. That’s fascinating to think about because AI is used a lot to help increase productivity. But at the same time, will this mean companies will restrict their ability to get global recognition in these ways?
One could argue too if the business is saving and making a lot of money they could care less about winning some award. At the same time, I would imagine a lot of companies would love the accolade of winning awards and being recognized by their peers. Once you make all the money you need too in these types of industries I think for a lot of companies expanding their audience is probably more valuable than just saving a few dollars here and there.
Would this actually make you hesitant to use AI in the creative field knowing there are already organizations that disqualify companies for such usage?
