This got me thinking as I was reading some reviews of a barber shop and as you would expect there are a mix of positive and negative reviews as you can’t make everyone happy. But their reaction to negative reviews was interesting as many times they seem to genuinely believe a lot of negative reviews were posted to the wrong business or that it was a competitor trying to smear them. To would write with exclamation marks stating how the reviews were fake or because they couldn’t address a barber by name then they must have never actually gone in the store.
Assuming it is a competitor posting these, it brings up the thought on whether or not you should address them with an aggressive or polite tone. In this case it’s probably be better to be polite as it is open for everyone to see and probably gives vibes that the owner is in denial of sort where they can’t ever be wrong. That’s odd considering like the story yesterday of countries threatening each other with tariffs as showing a sign of strength should be better, right?
I suppose the difference is one is politics where perception of strength and not weakness is important whereas in a business serving customers people would like to deal with caring and understanding business owners. A time and a place for each.
