Today I was surprised as I was looking at a company site for a new release which I was looking forward to as a customer of their products and sure enough they started to list the new item. Out of curiosity, I looked at their older items to see if there was a discount as a result and I was surprised to learn on their page that they actually posted some of my work I created using their products. The project they linked to actually wasn’t specifically about just their items so that was kind of interesting that they listed it anyways.
I was thinking how since I was a happy customer for them and they had avenues to contact me publicly, as a business they could have easily asked me for say a specific testimonial or review for the item and I would have been happy to give one. It would look nicer on their company page too to have material that just focuses on the product in question.
It makes me think, are you afraid as a business to reach out to your customers to potentially get public testimonials in these ways? Because like in this example you are probably missing out on a lot of free publicity per se.
