I noticed on a lot of deal sites there were postings of the Meta Quest 2 Virtual Reality how the price of it has dropped to an all time low at about $279.96. A great deal if someone was actually looking to buy it. AS a standard habit whenever I see universal sales like these I then research if the reason for the drop is to potentially make room for a new release. Sure enough, with some quick searches there apparently is a “Quest 3 Lite” coming out that consist of the same processing power of the new Quest 3 product with apparently a reduce in quality with the lens to make it cheaper.
A great example I thought on why I tend to do price checking in these situations. If it was me I would probably wait for the new version with updated hardware. Buyer’s remorse would be pretty high if I just bought the older model at this sale price that will likely be over it’s return period by the time the newer version comes out.
Especially if you don’t actually need the item right away, don’t ever just purchase it solely because there is a price drop without seeing if something better is coming soon.
