The other day I went to visit my grandfather as he needed a new tablet and I was the only one available that knew how to set the thing up. You would think most people would want one to browse the Internet or use e-mail as an example. So, I made sure to set everything back up for him onto this new one and even transferal his old media files as there were a lot of vacation and event photos it seems.
When I brought it to him he had to get used to the new tablet as it was a bit smaller. But at the same time, way more powerful than the 5-year-old one he was using. This new one is still considered low end though as you won’t be watching 8K videos or playing high end games on it. With all that, it became evident that the main reason he ws using it was to just look at his old photos and listen to some music files he had. He didn’t jump to say play videos on YouTube or anything.
Talk about just needing the basics. So many times we just spend way more than we need or even gift people expensive items that they will never truly take full advantage of. Imagine how much extra money we spend each year because of that and the other things we can invest to with wiser purchasing decisions based on what you actually need.
