This was funny to think about as there was a person who essentially made films and did business everywhere as a lot of places can simply license his work and files would be transferred digitally. However, he was told that people would take him more seriously if he actually had an office in say the US. So apparently what he did was he listed a US address on his page which was simply a place of a friend that he could use anytime with a mini office space. He doesn’t ever really need to leave his existing residence to do business. But with this one change he suddenly got way more inquiries.
To a certain extent that is true even for having addresses in a prime downtown location even if it is one of those virtual address types of services. It just gives people the perception that they are dealing with reputable company locally even though it may have no relevance to the work itself. For online communication this could mean having your own .com domain versus simply using a free e-mail account as an example.
As they say, perception is reality to most and the solutions can be very cheap to implement. Sounds very superficial, but’s it’s the way many people think and react to these types of stuff that you shouldn’t ignore.
