For myself I have never dipped into the world of voice commands for everyday tasks and so I thought this would be a good time to try.  The robot is named Alexa in this case and things didn\u2019t turn out exactly as planned.<\/p>\n<p>One of the first things that I thought would be really useful is if you could ask Alexa to help give you a breakdown of specific news topics.  That should theoretically speed up time in having to go through things manually.  So I would say things such as \u201cAlexa, show me the news about (insert topic)\u201d and it looked like it would start.  After many tries it always went back to the same general news stuff.  Apparently it just recognizes the word \u201cnews\u201d and just chooses a media source to list that organization\u2019s top news.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xifvAiVpuCQ\" frameborder=\"0\" gesture=\"media\" allow=\"encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While I am sure there are ways to fix this it made me wonder are you willing to invest a ton of time in the beginning to train things like robot to know exactly what you are looking for in order to reap the rewards later on?  Or would you be inclined to say with the time it takes to train the thing would you may as well just do everything manually?  At this point if the training is placed in say a database that can be transfer over to a future product then that would make sense to invest the time.  Having to do it every time though would be a different question.<\/p>\n<p>Funny enough it makes me think as well how there are probably going to be companies that create things to train the robots for you which costs a fee.  Will it make our lives easier?
