Today I decided to attend a cherry blossom festival in Vancouver which celebrates Japanese culture with various events and activities. I decided to go to this traditional tea ceremony as I never tried anything like that. It was a fun and educational experience I thought since it was all new to me. I was also filming the whole thing in the process.<\/p>\n
Here was the funny part as at the end of the session the host of the event was so amazed and asked questions about the camera I was using as she apparently never seen anything that small. Now to me it\u2019s nothing really special as it\u2019s just a camera. But it made me think of the funny contrast here where something like tea can fascinate me whereas the camera fascinates her.<\/p>\n
It reminds me how many times people undervalue how much knowledge they have where there are usually a lot of people who could use your skills. A second language is a very good example of say using it as a business asset. Or in many cases even creating a business in general. It\u2019s just when we get so used to something we just automatically assume no one would really value it. That is usually so wrong. <\/p>\n
Actually, that\u2019s why I often enjoy attending events like these to learn about different cultures. You start to realize as well how many opportunities there are for you if you really wanted to do something with your specific skill set as the world is a pretty big place once you step outside of what you are used to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
