Today I had an interesting experience with a vendor at a food court. I decided to do this indoor mini hike of sort as it is just a weekly event for a short time. While it costs $5 to enter you actually get a $5 food court voucher. So I decided to use it. I didn`t want to spend more than the $5 after and so it was good as I saw a sushi place that was selling everything for half price since the food court was closing soon. Business wise it`s better for them to sell the stuff cheap than throw it away.<\/p>\n
Because it was all half price my voucher technically left me with more than two dollars left. The person mentioned they can`t give change\/money back for the voucher which was okay to me. The interesting thing was the person decided to give me more it seems like some miso soup as I noticed other people didn\u2019t get it. My assumption is they didn\u2019t feel right just taking the extra money and so they decided to try and give me more to match the value.<\/p>\n
From a personal level I always like seeing businesses do that as it makes me feel like they don\u2019t just treat people like a number. I know a lot of other people would normally say just keep the extra dollar as it is more profit. For a smaller business if you can I don\u2019t see why you wouldn\u2019t try and offer a better value like this. You often need all the advantages and good word of mouth to compete with the larger people who can probably sell things for way cheaper based on volume as an example.<\/p>\n
I know for like myself in this case I will remember that good gesture which will probably mean more business for them in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
