It even went as high as $7.  While obviously people would buy it for things like food storage, it really made me wonder though isn&#8217;t it a better value to just buy like an item where the product is packaged in a jar which you can then re-use?<\/p>\n<p>For example, the first thing that comes to mind if you were looking for a jar is to buy some pickles.  They usually cost about $2 which would pretty much be the same price as buying an empty one on its own.  I must be missing something here on why that wouldn&#8217;t be the better way to go financially and economically.  The only thing I can think of is that you could argue it&#8217;s been used and therefore maybe it won&#8217;t be as sanitary.
