Boxing day is here and as expected a ton of the malls were packed with line ups stretching longer than a block at a lot of stores. While that was nothing uncommon for today, I did notice that some businesses were trying to be more pro-active in generating business which was interesting. Specifically, in the mall there is a Mcdonalds restaurant and it appeared that this one had a plan of sort and sent out various employees to go to where the line ups were around the mall and offer to sell people drinks and sandwiches while they were lining up.<\/p>\n
This seemed like it was a guerrilla style approach too as they didn’t really have any kind of method to convince the crowd to buy from them and at the same time you could easily mistaken them as just another shopper who happens to be carrying a large bag of sort. I suppose you can say they were doing it the old fashion way as if they were a sidewalk food vendors attempting to drum up sales. The restaurant itself was still busy too so in no way were they doing this out of desperation.<\/p>\n
The biggest surprise to me is how they were even thinking of doing that in the first place as you would think a big company like that would have strict guidelines of sort as to how things should be run and that method like these need to be approved. In many ways it worked though as you saw garbage cans filled with Mcdonald coffee cups. When you think of about it most people would simply still sit there and hope that the customers will just come to them too in that situation. Was a good example of being proactive in getting yourself right into the crowd to get some sales.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
